Anna Orlik Wins 2009 Eddie Herr and 2009 Orange Bowl Doubles Championships

Anna Orlik and her partner Valeria Solovieva of Russia, seeded #6 and surviving 2 matches in third set tiebreakers earlier in the tournament, turned it on in the doubles final and defeated #3 Seeds Gavrilova and Khromacheva of Russia 6-4, 6-0 for the 2009 Eddie Herr Doubles Championship. Anna also won the 2008 Girls 18s Doubles Title with partner Laura Robson, and the Girls 14s Doubles Title in 2006.

Anna is a past Eddie Herr Singles Champion as well wining the Girls 12s title in 2005 and Girls 14s Singles title in 2006.

Anna then teamed with Solovieva at the 2009 Orange Bowl and seeded #8, defeated unseeded Polina Pekhova and Noel Scott in the doubles final 6-2, 6-2 for their second major title in 2 weeks! Along the way, Anna and Solovieva defeated #2 seeds Kolar and NIric 6-2, 6-3 and in the semifainals defeated top American Nicole Gibbs and her partner in the third set tiebreaker.

Anna has won a major junior title in Florida in 4 of the past 5 years, and pulled off the rare feat of the Double / Double (2 Major Doubles Titles in 2 weeks) for the first time in 2009!

Anna will begin 2010 Professional tournament play in California with 2 $25KChallengers before heading to Mexico to play the prestigious $225K WTA event in Acapulco. Anna’s goal is to reach top 200 WTA by the end of 2010.
