Ashley Dai and Riko Shimizu Win 2009 Winter Nationals Girls 16s Doubles Title! Ashley Dai takes 3rd place in Singles! Sasha Solonin takes 3rd place in Singles at 2010 Copper Bowl!
Ashley Dai and Riko Shimizu continued their domination of the Girls 16s by winning the 2009 Winter Nationals Girls 16s Doubles Championship! Ashley and Riko defeated #2 seeds Nicole Flower and Megan Kurey in the final 6-2, 6-3 to complete a great run where they did not drop a set the entire tournament.
This is Dai and Shimizu’s 2nd Doubles Gold Ball together. Previuosly, they won the 2008 Girls 14s Hard Court Doubles Championship together.
Ashley and Riko plan to play again together at Carson ITF Spring International and Easter Bowl ITF Spring National in April.

Sasha Solonin added the 3rd Place Trophy from Boys 14s Copper Bowl to his Boys 14s California Bowl Championship for a great 3 week run in December and early January. Sasha has improved his overall ranking to #46 USTA in Boys 14s! Great job, Sasha!
Meredith Xepoleas also reached the Singles Quarterfinals in the Girls 12s division for another great result after her California Bowl Singles Title a week earlier. Way to go, Meredith!
