The new Academy will be housed in a beautiful ,new sixteen court facility in the community of Jaixing just outside of Shanghai.
The Shanghai Weil Academy will begin at its new facility in July with summer training camps for Chinese and international players.
The Academy has a web site www.shanghaiweiltennis.cn where you can access information and registration forms.
Academy Director Mark Weil has made several trips to China in the last year to set up the new academy:
“I am very excited to open my new Academy in China. China is just beginning to blossom as a sports nation and tennis will be one of their most popular sports. And the educational opportunities that tennis will provide to the Chinese youth and their parents are limitless. If a Chinese player wants to attend a great American college, tennis is the best way to achieve this. We will train the players to be college level players, and professional level players if they have the desire and talent. And we will make certain that the Chinese players understand what tennis can do to improve their future.”
Shanghai Weil Academy will have an international high performance coaching staff to train the players. Camps will provide boarding & meals, as well as training and fitness for the players.
