Gergana Boncheva, 17(Canada) Top 50 Canada G16sGergana is right handed and her best stroke is her backhand. She is a tough competitior who wants to be the best and her favorite player is Justine Henin. Gergana's goal is to get a full scholarship to either Brown or Stanford. |
Gail Brodsky, 18, Brooklyn, NY. (#1 US G18s 2008, WTA Top 500) Gail is in her 7th year training at Weil and is considered one of the top 5 young American prospects. Gail achieved a career high WTA ranking of 360 in 2009 and looks to improve upon that in 2010. Coming off of an injury in late 2009, Gail will use Weil Academy as her base in 2010 and play a strong schedule to work her way into the top 100 WTA. As a junior, Gail has won almost every major US Singles Title including the Eddie Herr, Easter Bowl and USTA Hard Court Nationals Championships. Gail has represented the USA in World Youth Cup Team Competition 4 times and has played in 2 US Open Main draws. Gail also holds the record for winning the prestigious Ojai Tournament a record 4 times from 2004 – 2007, all in different age divisions finishing with the Women’s Open Title in 2007 as a 15 year old. |
Justin Burrus, 14 (Spring Lake, NJ) Top 10 MIddle States B14s, Top 175 US B14s Justin is in his first year at Weil and looks to improve his serve, technique and all around attacking game. Justin is a quiet young man but has the heart of a champion when he competes. Justin is right handed and likes to win points from the baseline, but can move forward when he needs to. His serve will be a big weapon one day. Justin will play B14s. |

Lucas is a tough competitor that will not give up until the last point. When Lucas leaves Weil he wants to have a high ITF ranking - Top 100 or Top 50. |

Grigor Dimitrov, 19 (Haskovo, Bulgaria) Top 250 ATP, #1 ITF 2008 Grigor trained at Weil for 2 years and won the Eddie Herr and Orange Bowl singles titles both years. Grigor is one of the most promising young players on the ATP Tour and looks to be a top 25 ATP player in the next 2 years. In 2008, Grigor won the Wimbledon and US Open Junior Singles Championships and finished the year ranked #1 in the ITF! Grigor was the first Bulgarian player to ever achieve the #1 junior world ranking. Grigor is now coached by Peter Lundgren and makes his base in Europe. |

Evan McNicol, 13 (British Columbia, Canada) Top 65 So Cal B14s Evan came to Weil from Vancouver, Canada, in August 2009. Evan's all around game style has currently placed him in the top 65 in Southern California for B14s. One of Evan's favorite shots is the drop shot and he has a one handed backhand that is developing quickly since he's been at Weil. Evan's current goals are to reach top 30 So Cal by June 2010 and finish in the top 10 by June 2011. |

My type of game is aggressive but I've been working and I've improved my defensive game alot. I've also improved my footwork alot and I feel my physical condition and strength are more than good. I've been working hard and improving playing matches and I've been winning good matches against good players. I am also working hard on my mental game and focusing on matches. I am a right-handed player and I have improved both mentally and physically since I first started here. I finished the G14s at #30 in So. Cal, I attended school in New Zealand for a semester and played #2 for the #2 school in New Zealand, I came back home and have a current ranking of #60 in the G16s, and I am now jumping into the G18s. My goals from now until I finish high school is to keep improving my tennis along with my So. Cal and national ranking, work hard in school, and hopefully get in to a top school on the East Coast. |

Pedro Zerbini (Sao Paulo, Brazil, Junior, UC Berkeley Men's Tennis Team) Pedro Zerbini, 22, is playing big time college tennis for Cal. Pedro finished 2009 in the top 50 of NCAA Singles and is currently ranked Top 30 in College tennis. Pedro will play #1 singles and #1 Doubles for the Bears this year and his goal is to bring a NCAA Team Title to Cal! The Bears are ranked in the Top 25 and have started the season 7-1. |
Kallim Stewart (Ojai, CA, Senior, UCLA Bruins Men's Tennis Team) Kallim, 22, finished 2005 ranked #1 in Boys 18s in the United States, and played #1 for his Cal team last year before transferring to UCLA for his senior year.Kallim will look to build on that this year as he starts ranked in the Top 50 in College Tennis. |
Kirsten Flower (NCAA Women's Team Champion Goergia Tech, Top 40 Singles College Tennis, SeniorOhio State Buckeyes, Columbus, Ohio) Kirsten, 22, trained at Weil for 2 plus years and rose to #1 in Girls 14s and Girls 16s in the US while with us. After a stellar 2 years at GA Tech where she helped the Yellow Jackets win a National Title in her freshman year, Kirsten decided to transfer to her father's alma mater Ohio St. Kirsten will play number one for the Buckeyes and will lead the team to a great season we are sure. Kirsten will improve this year and her Yellow Jackets will try to defend their National title later this year. |

Bozhidar Katsarov (Ojai, CA, Junior, UC Berkeley Men's Tennis Team) Bozhidar Katsarov, 21, begins his Junior season with a much improved Cal team and expects to play top 4 in singles and #2 doubles for the Bears. Bo graduated from Weil and achieved the #1 USA Boys 16s ranking while attending the academy. Bo’s father, Ognyan Katsarov, is a Head Coach at Weil. Bo is majoring in Business Administration with a focus in Finance at the prestigious Walter A. Haas School of Business at Cal. The Katsarov’s moved to Weil from Bulgaria. |
