Brodsky had a great spring and summer season as well reaching the Singles Quarterfinals at Jr. Wimbledon, winning the Singles Championship at the Gr B1 Easter Bowl and the prestigious Ojai Women's Professional Open Singles Championship.
Brodsky is currently top 30 in the world in ITF singles and will play the Orange Bowl this fall to finish out the year in juniors. Gail will focus mainly on professional tournaments in the next year to improve her WTA ranking and results.
Tanya Raykova, 16, from Bulgaria Tanya is in her third year at Weil, is currently ranked Top 40 ITF and is one of the fastest rising players in the world. Tanya has had a great 2007 as well winning ITF singles titles in Costa Rica, Texas and multiple titles in Morocco. Tanya qualified for her first grand slam this fall playing the Jr. US Open.
Tanya's 2007 results are no surprise to her coaches--in 2006 Tanya won 11 singles titles all over the US, including the Eddie Herr International Girls 16s Singles and Doubles Championships. Tanya will play Eddie Herr and Orange Bowl this fall before traveling to Australia to compete in the Jr. Australian Grand Slam Championships.
Grigor Dimitrov, 16, from Bulgaria Grigor is in his third year at Weil and has also risen quickly to Top 40 ITF after a terrific summer where he won the Boys 16s European Singles Championships, reached the semifinals of Grade 1 ITF events in Germany and Austria, the quarterfinals at the Canadian ITF and reached the Doubles Finals of the Canadian & Jr. US Open Doubles Championships. Grigor will play the Eddie Herr and Orange Bowl this fall before traveling to Australia to play the Jr. Grand Slam down under.
Grigor's 2007 comes on the heels of a fantastic 2006 where he won the Eddie Herr and Orange Bowl Boys 16s Singles Championships in back to back weeks winning 12 matches in a row without losing a set against the top 16 year olds in the world!
Rebecca Marino, 16, of Canada Rebecca joins Weil this year after a break out summer where she won multiple ITF titles in Canada and the Bahamas, reached the semifinals of a Grade 3 in the US, and then topped it all by winning the Canadian ITF Grade 1 Junior Singles Championships as a Wild Card entry! Rebecca had a great tournament as she defeated several top ranked ITF girls to take her first Grade 1 championship. This fall Rebecca has picked right up and just won the Pan American Closed Doubles Championship with partner Melanie Oudin of the US.
Rebecca's fall has been just as exciting as she has just accepted a full scholarship offer to join the defending NCAA National Champion GA Tech Yellow Jackets Team led by Head Coach Bryan Shelton. Rebecca was Coach Shelton's top recruit and she turned down offers from Stanford and UC Berkeley to join Bryan and his program which also includes Weil Alumnus Kirsten Flower. Rebecca will play the Eddie Herr and Orange Bowls before traveling to Australia to play the Jr. Grand Slam this January.
Radu Albot, 17, of Moldova
Radu is already Top 20 ITF and has joined Weil this fall to improve his ATP Ranking and prepare for the Eddie Herr and Orange Bowl Championships this December. Radu's goal is to finish 2007 in the Top 10 ITF before traveling back to Moldova to compete for his country's Davis Cup Team.
Radu, 17, comes to Weil during a stellar junior career reaching a career high Top 15 ITF. Radu has begun his ATP career at Weil and will be playing a combination of Futures and Challenger events in 2007 and 2008, as well as going for a Top 10 ITF ranking by competing in the Eddie Herr and Orange Bowls in December. Radu just finished competing at the Jr. US Open in September where he reached the round of 16 losing to eventual champion Ricardas Berrankis of Lithuania. Radu will improve more this year and establish a strong ATP ranking.
Ksenia Milevskaya, 17, of Belarus, is Top 5 ITF
Ksenia is in her third year at Weil recently signed with SFX Agency this spring and then proceeded to have a fantastic summer winning the Jr. French Open and the Jr. US Open Doubles Championships with partner Urszula Radwanska of Poland. Ksenia also reached the singles semifinals at both the French and the US Open barely losing in 3 sets both times. Ksenia's professional career has taken off as well as she reached the finals and the semifinals in back to back ITF $50,000.00 Challengers in France and won a $10,000 Singles Championship in Sweden. Ksenia's WTA ranking has improved to #342 this fall and will continue to improve as she plays more events.
When Milevskaya arrived at Weil ranked #63 ITF, we all knew she could be a top 10 player -- we just didn't know she could achieve it so quickly!
Ksenia has had the best results in 2006 of any junior in the world by winning 5 Grade 1 ITF tournaments in California, Belgium, Germany, Canada and Kentucky from April to September, as well as making another Grade 1 Final in England in July.
