Weil's Brian Wilson, fresh off an illustrious college career where he won the 2003 NCAA Team Title, NCAA Doubles Title and led his Illinois Team to an NCAA record 65 straight dual match victories, teamed with Weil Alum Nick Rainey this October to win the Doubles Title at the prestigious Burbank Challenger. Wilson and Rainey defeated many great teams on the way to their title, including US Open Quarterfinalists Justin Bower and Brandon Coope.
Wilson has a full schedule for the fall and will join the US Young Professional Traveling Team in January as he tries to establish himself as one of the premier young American players. Wilson plans to play World Team Tennis again next summer. Last summer playing for the St. Louis Aces, Wilson scored wins over Patrick Rafter and Ramon Delgado, and had good a performance in a loss to Andre Agassi.
Wilson will use Weil as his training base during the year to train in between tournament segments: "Weil's facility in Southern California is world class and there are always top players to train with when I'm there. It's the perfect training base for me between tournaments-it's close to my home, its great training and the coaching staff is always willing to give me what I need. I really appreciate Mark and the Academy's support."
