Dimitar Yazadzhiev, Head Coach

Dimitar YazadzhievHead Coach Yazadzhiev moved to Ojai in October of 1999 from Sofia, Bulgaria where he was a coach at the Maleeva Tennis Academy, operated by the three Maleeva sisters who have been ranked in the top 10 in the world. Coach Yazadzhiev graduated from the prestigious Bulgarian Sports Academy and Institute with his degree in Physical Education and Sports Management. He was ranked among the Top Four Juniors in Bulgaria. Coach Yazadzhiev also traveled with and coached the top five junior Bulgarian ITF players at that time.

Coach Yazadzhiev was the Tournament Director for the Bulgarian Tennis Federation for one year as well as the Management Director for the Academic Tennis Club. He has been a professional USPTR since 1993. Coach Yazadzhiev coached Sesil Karatancheva, currently Top 40 WTA and French Open Quarter Finalist for almost two years. During this time, Sesil won the Orange Bowl, several Southern California Designateds and the prestigious Girls 16s Title at the Ojai Tournaments, previously won by World #1s Lindsey Davenport and Tracy Austin.

Takeshi Ozaki, Head Coach

Takeshi OsakiCoach Ozaki, originally from Tokyo, Japan, was ranked number three in his section while a college student in Japan. He coached in Tokyo for six years and was director of Lavoy Pacific College (Sports College) from 1990-1993. He also developed the BETA (Briscoe Eisendrath Tennis Academy) in Washington where he served as director for eight years. Before joining the Weil Tennis Academy, he directed the Pacific Tennis Academy.

In addition to coaching, Ozaki travels to Japan regularly to recruit students for a new Asian Training Program at the Weil Tennis Academy. So far, the Weil Tennis Academy has enrolled 12 students from Japan.

Ognyan Katsarov, Head Coach

Ognyan Katsarov

Ognyan (Ogi) Katsarov is from Bulgaria, He worked for the Bulgarian Fed Cup Team as Assistant Coach from 1999-2003 and Head Coach in 1995, 1996 and 2004. Ogi has also coached the likes of Magdalena Maleeva, along with three players in the top 150-250 in the WTA, ten Bulgarian National champions and a 3rd place in the Orange Bowl.

Ogi graduated from The Higher Institute of Physical Education specializing in Tennis and Pedagogic Profile. As a tennis player, he participated in the National Team of Bulgaria, ranked 5th place on in the Men's National Team and placed 1st in Tier I Doubles in national tournaments.

Ogi's coaching career began in 1980 in his home town of Plovdiv where he also lectured from 1983-1989. He coached for the Locomotiv-Stad Tennis Club and in 1991 became a coach for Bulgaria's National Women's Team. Ogi is married to Vesalina Katsarova. Their son, Bozhidar Katsarov was top 20 in ETA in 14s


Mohamed (Mo) El Bouzkouri, Head Coach

Mohamed Elbouzkouri Mohamed (Mo) El Bouzkouri is originally from Morocco, where he ranked among the top five juniors in his country. He is beginning his fourth year coaching at Weil Tennis Academy where he works with Weil’s top juniors, plans the training and fitness regiments, coordinates tournament travel and travels with our top national and international juniors to major national and international competitions.

Mohamed (Mo) El Bouzkouri is the Director of the College Placement Program for the academy. This program adapts unprecedented and a unique approach to College Placement, which makes it very effective at getting players placed into top College Tennis Programs all over the United States, while maximizing their scholarship potentials. Mo has very close ties with an extensive amount of College Coaches which includes Division I, II, III and NAIA. Mo’s college placement expertise combined with his coaching experience provides proven success in getting the students placed with scholarships in college programs to fit each player’s individual ambitions both athletically and academically. In 2006/2007 school year, Mo was responsible for placing and negotiating substantial scholarships for our students to the best academic and athletic universities in the country. School such as UCLA, UC Berkley, Georgia Tech, Stanford and many more! (See the full list here!). This college placement class is not only limited to our full time students, but rather for kids all around the world who have sign up for the College Placement Program.

Mo moved to The United States in 1996 to attend the Palmer Tennis Academy where he earned a scholarship and trained with the best juniors in the world, competing in the highest level of various national and international tournaments. He then went on to play Division I Tennis on full scholarship at Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina from 1999 to 2003, where he earned a Bachelors degree in Management and International Marketing. He also served as an assistant head coach at the Palmer Tennis Academy in his senior year, as well as assisting the Coastal Carolina Men’s Tennis Team in 2003-2004. Mo has worked and developed players such as Kallim Stewart (# 1 US Boy’s 18 – 2006), Pedro Zerbini (UC Berkeley) and Ksenia Milevskaya (# 2, Girl’s ITF) etc... Mo is fluent in French, Arabic, Spanish and English, enabling him to communicate with our international students and their parents.

Rangga Putra, Coach

Rangga PutraRangga Putra is originally from Indonesia, where he ranked among the top five juniors in his country. This is his third year coaching at Weil Tennis Academy and he will be working with top junior players and traveling with them to major national and international competitions.

Rangga moved to the United States in 1999 to attend the Van Der Meer Tennis Academy where he earned a scholarship and trained with the best juniors in the world' competing in the highest level of various National and International Tournaments. He then went on to play Division I tennis on full scholarship at the University of Buffalo in Buffalo, New York graduating in 2005. Rangga earned his Bachelor's Degree in communication. He served as an assistant head coach at Van Der Meer Tennis Academy in his senior year, as well as, assisting the University of Buffalo Men's Tennis Team in 2004. He has also worked and trained regularly with Angelique Widjaja, who has been ranked in the top 100 WTA and is a former champion of the Junior Wimbledon and Roland Garros.

Since the age of 20, Rangga has worked in several outstanding summer camps with high performance juniors from the United States and Asia.

Petar Racic, Coach

Petar is originally from Novi Sad, Serbia and Montenegro where he worked as a tennis coach for 10 years. Petar worked with junior and college level players in a Tennis Club that produced three top 100 WTA players, the most famous being Monica Seles. Petar started playing tennis at the age of 8 and as a player competed in all age division groups in former Yugoslavia being ranked top 20 in the nation. In 1993 Petar became certified by Yugoslav Tennis Association and he has also been a PTR Professional since 2004. Last year Petar moved to Moorpark, CA where he coached Michelle Dokic, a top ranked Southern CA player who also joined the Weil Academy this summer.

Allen Fox, Ph.D.

Allen Fox Allen Fox, Ph.D. earned a B.A. degree in physics and a Ph. D. in psychology from UCLA where he played college tennis and won he NCAA Singles and Doubles Titles. Dr. Fox wrote the best sellers, If I’m the Better Player, Why Can’t I Win?, Think to Win, and most recently The Winner’s Mind.

With the same competitive zeal that propelled him to the number four ranking in the United States, to the quarterfinals at Wimbledon and a 3 time member of the US Davis Cup Team, he became an investment banker and eventually ran his own investment company. Dr. Fox went on to own and operate several successful small businesses while coaching the highly-ranked tennis team at Pepperdine University, mentoring, among others, super-achiever and motivator Brad Gilbert, the renowned coach of Andre Agassi and Andy Roddick. Dr Fox’s Pepperdine teams were ranked in the Top 5 for 10 consecutive years and reached 2 NCAA Team Finals.

He currently consults and works privately with professional athletes on the mental issues of competition and travels worldwide to lecture on competition psychology. He lives in San Luis Obispo, California, with his wife, Nancy and two sons, Evan and Charlie.


Patrick Muller, Fitness Director

Patrick is originally from Strasbourg, France. He has been working at the Weil Tennis Academy since the summer of 2006. Patrick has been studying Sports Science for 5 years and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Strength and Conditioning from the University of Strasbourg, France. His main focus of study was sports performance. He specialized in all the fitness components that an athlete needs: strength, speed, endurance, agility and flexibility. Patrick has played tennis since he was very young and he has coached tennis for the last several years. Patrick completed several internships in the strength and conditioning field before coming to Weil. He has worked with professional soccer and rugby teams in France and has also worked with young basketball and badminton players. Patrick started his tennis career with an internship in the French Tennis Federation with the top 6 14/16 year old players. He has also worked as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Evert Tennis Academy in Florida.
