On her way to victory, the 17-year-old Seira from Japan beat former Weil player and UCSB sophomore standout Natalie Da Silveira in the semifinals, 6-2, 6-4, before toppling University of Utah No. 3 player Margo Pletcher in the final, 7-5, 6-2.

Weil Academy is happy to announce that Seira, who has had as many as 30 WTA points at one time this year, has decided to spend her senior Year at Weil Academy and Weil Prep School with plans to graduate and attend a U.S. College on scholarship. Seira is excited to begin her college search with Academy Director Mark Weil in September! Congratulations on a great ITA Tournament, Seira!
