Congratulations to the following 16 Weil players for making it to the round of 64 at the BNP Paribas Challenge. David Bogatin, Lin Bass, Lysov Sergei, Fernando Fonseca, JoJo Schwarcz, Michael Chen, Brandon Lam, Eduardo Villalpando, Odissey Kavak, Emilio Monroy, Tuna Kaan, Alex Fedor, Chris Grasel, Huynh Hung, Joel Hug, and Seira Shimizu.

Schwarcz, Lam, and Fonseca made it to the Round of 32 winning three matches!

Weil Academy Founder and Director Mark Weil is excited for this year’s desert trip. Here’s what Weil had to say:

“We have been taking the entire Academy to the BNP Paribas Open for the past 20 years, and this tournament continues to amaze me, my students and coaches every single year!  There is no easier access to the best pros in the world, than at BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.  Our students get to meet and get autographs from all the top men and women players, watch tennis in the greatest tennis venue in the world, and enjoy the hospitality of the BNP staff.  Weil is also very fortunate to have a close relationship with the BNP: BNP has asked Weil to supply sparring partners for WTA and ATP Pros for the past 10 years. So, Head Coach Mohamed Badran takes six of our top Junior players (this year all six Weil students have signed to play Division I college tennis in PAC 12, Big 10, ACC, Big West, Patriot and Colonial Conferences) and they warm up many of the top players before their matches.  What an honor and privilege we have!  We mark the calendar every year for our Big Academy trip to Indian Wells to watch the BNP Paribas Open, and this year is no exception — CAN’T WAIT to be there!”
